Hey gary I know this is getting long in the tooth but I still haven't been able to synchronise calendars with my bro-in-law for him to fix it, so are you still willing to? (for the stated quid pro quo) I'll PM you to organise where and when? thanks in anticipation, gav

hi everyone,
i've had my toppy for about 2 years now and its worked quite nicely to date - I have PBK installed however, this last week I have noticed a few strange things happening 1) Recordings are not being saved: by that I mean when I hit record, the recording starts but whenever it stops it disappears from the "recordings list" 2) The recordings show up in the recording list (while they are recording) as all occurring on 1/1/2003, this is despite the Toppy time being set to Auto and displaying the correct time everywhere else (such as in the main menu) 3) I used plasmaepg to gather epg data, and suddenly it is failing to do this and I have a blank epg I am wondering if the hdd is failing, but this doesn't sound like what most other people have described (failing to respond, black screens, etc) Any ideas/suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks

hi, just as an addition to the above post, I forgot to mention that timer recordings no longer work at all - they don't start recording in the first place, not sure whats going on!

Doesn't sound good. I would power it off and unplug it for a bit. Then turn it back on and do a factory reset. If it is still not working, then maybe a hard drive format, but yes, it could be the hard drive is dying or the power supply.

Looks like cutting and pasting from word does funny things...
the comment should have looked like this.... Thanks, those VB's didn't take long to disapear ![]() Edit by RE Yes copy/pasting from MS Word does leave a bit of mess so I deleted your preceding post using that method. If you first copy into a text editor and then recopy it should be OK. Edited by RE - 31/Jul/2010 at 4:18pm |
