Just to elaborate, this doesn't use any key at all so the menu must be accessed via TMSCommander.

Will do.
Yes, this can be done. I have limited it to things that won't interfere with normal operation, but seeing as you have asked nicely... expect it soon.
It is fully TMS commander compatible I think John - in TMS Commander pressing menu will open the TAP and pressing exit will stop the tap. Let me know if you were thinking of something else - when you get back this weekend you can give it a try. I'm currently working on doing an auto fix for bad SBS program names. Once I have that working I'll release an update, but haven't done anything on it this week - been snowed. |

What I mean Jeff is when you allow the user to pick the config key, have a "key" called "TMSCommander" - if selected this means that no key is taken up to bring up the menu, and it can only be brought up via TMSCommander.

The other thing is that if you press Menu when in TMSCommander you get the Timer List screen and not its menu. Is that how its supposed to work?
Edit: given what I said about the "TMSCommander" key then it can only work this way.

New release - v1.02 26 June 2010
Added:
Interestingly the TAP uses a Timer_Modify call to do this, and not a Timer_Delete followed by a Timer_Add. As a consequence, TimerDiags doesn't seem to track the change, but it does work. I should add, I am still working on: - editing timers. Now I have the EPG fix running and it is changing timers, the editing is mostly covered - just doing the work to handle the screen - hopefully some time soon. - extending the SBS EPG character fix to a general Make PC Safe Names option, which will automatically strip all timer names of : / and other PC un-friendly characters. - plan to add direct call to AutoSched and JustEPG so they can be called from within the timer list screen. Any other suggestions welcome. Edited by JaffaMan - 26/Jun/2010 at 11:20pm |

New version installed and working, from the TMSCommander screen pressing the menu button does not take you direct to the config menu. It takes you to the display screen from which you have to press menu again. Not sure if this is a feature from previous version as well.
Can you change it so it takes you to the config screen.
There is a discussion about the intergration with JE and the ability to use TMSTimer rather than the inbuilt. JE allows you to run a new TAP from the JE screen using the activation button.
The discussion is about using the white button to bring up TMSTimer rather than the inbuilt timer screen. Any ideas how we could do this as outside of the EPG screen the white button is being used for quickplay.
I also want to be able to press recall at any time an see my timers. I want the best of both worlds

Hi JaffaMan,
Are you planning to allow editing of timers in future releases, so we can ignore the standard reservations screen all together?

Two posts previously Jeff said; "I should add, I am still working on: - editing timers." I read this as he was planning to allow editing of timers in future releases. |

As Robert says, yes - I have it half working at the moment, but am not including it in the release version yet until it is right. In my version at the moment pressing OK brings up a screen with all the timer details. I can currently change recording type from rec to play, edit names, change services, select TV /Radio. Still working on changing time, duration and event type (weekly etc) but that shouldn't be too hard. It's all a bit slow for me - the taps are written in C, a language I am not versed in, so things I would normally be able to just do take me forever to figure out - just stripping out the first char of bad SBS programs took ages to work out how to do it - in the languages I am more familiar with that would have been a 1 minute job. Still, I guess I'm learning a new language as I go. |
