Where are you located? There is a good description of testing and fixing the power supply here http://members.optusnet.com.au/toppytools/pwrcircuit.html I've fixed a few here in Melbourne (charging for parts and a case of VB stubbies )
I would buy a new PVR model and be done with it, but this month's pay went on a new salt chlorinator for the damn pool.
Always the way things cant break down one at a time can they.
Yep, pools are not cheap, I had to replace my Sand Filter and Pump last year But as Kermit has pointed out the parts are cheap (I'd say $15 with postage) and if you can solder go for it.
Gary do you think the caps would cause the random shutting down issue?
sad that i have to ask tht
I did the electronics engineering cert course about 20 years ago, barely used ohms law since then let alone anything to do with switched mode power supplies
Gary do you think the caps would cause the random shutting down issue?
I'm no electronics expert, but as others have worked out what CAPs to replace it does seem to fix "most" strange issues with Toppies around the 3-5 years old. Regards Gary
